The M&T Jazz Fest is set for the first weekend of the summer in late
June. Performers from three American cities rich in music history will
take the stage at OCC. The headliners were announced yesterday.

The event starts Friday, June 23rd with the Sounds of Motown. The
night will be headlined by the Funk Brothers from Detroit. They've
played background music for countless Motown hits by greats like Stevie
Wonder and the Temptations.

Saturday night, the music heads south for a "Salute to the Sounds of
New Orleans." Dr. John and Lower 911 headline the evening. Dr. John
ranks among Luis Armstrong and Fats Domino as distinctive New Orleans
voices.

On Sunday, the music of Memphis takes over the stage. The Soul
Survivors round out the night and the Festival. And along with the
music each night, comes food from the respective regions from Ribs and
Barbeque to Cajun Cooking. The food and music make for an event
everyone's talking about.

This is the festival's 26th year.

thirties
and forties.'' - Dick Crocket, host ''Still Another Jazz Show'',
