Bye-bye, Sunny; so long, Smooth. What is the world coming to? Finally,
there will be only REAL JAZZ in Philadelphia.

Sunny 104.5 and Smooth Jazz 106.1 will cease to exist at some

point today as Clear Channel Radio prepares to reformat the

two stations.

Company officials chose not to talk yesterday, but word is

that WJJZ-FM (106.1) - for 13 years the home of Dave Koz and

David Sanborn - will flip to a format known in the trade

as "rhythmic adult-contemporary," an up-tempo mix of dance

music aimed primarily at adult women.

If WKTU (103.5), a sister station in New York, is any

indication, here's a sample: Michael Jackson's "Rock With

You," Rihanna's "Unfaithful," Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie," and

Madonna's "Sorry."

Clear Channel is not expected to announce plans for 104.5 - a

light-rock station known for playing Christmas music in the

fall - for a week or so. It's not clear what will air until
