This Monday, November 6th, we’ll present another edition of our special feature…MONDAY WITH THE MASTERS on Beyond Jazz featuring an hour of the music of possibly the most influential figure in jazz history, MILES DAVIS! Not only will you hear a full hour of his music from the mid 1980’s to his death in 1991 from some of his most famous electric albums like “Tutu,” “Amandla” and “Doo-Bop,” but you’ll also hear the comments of some of the artists who worked with him including Chick Corea, John Scofield and Kenny Garrett. Listen Monday at Noon Eastern/9 AM Pacific, with a replay Monday night at 11 PM Eastern/8 PM Pacific. It’s MONDAY WITH THE MASTERS featuring THE FATHER OF FUSION…MILES DAVIS on Beyond Jazz.

Join Russ Davis as he talks to the people who knew and worked with the man they called “The Chief” as they line up to tell their own definitive “Miles Story.” Mike Stern has one, so does Bill Evans, John Scofield, George Duke, Eddie Gomez, Pat Metheny, Kenny Garrett, Marcus Miller and so do many others. This Sunday, November 12th, will be another Premier Sunday here on Beyond Jazz with four more new projects to enjoy. First, the amazing, 85 year-old wonder that is Chico Hamilon completes this year-long birthday celebration with the release of his fourth new CD this year titled “Heritage.” It’s filled with more Chico originals and choice classics played by Chico and his young band with special guests. It’s another guaranteed Chico groovefest.Then enjoy the soulful tenor saxophone work of the great Javon Jackson, doing that groove thing again on his new CD “Now,” featuring an all-star cast including old friend Dr. Lonnie Smith on organ, David Gilmore on guitar plus others.Then we’ll top it off with the newest work from two great, young bassists with decidedly different styles as Englishman Tom Jenkinson AKA Squarepusher presents his newest and maybe most accessible release ever titled “Hello Everything,” followed by the son of film star Clint Eastwood, Kyle Eastwood, with a fun and funky musical statement on his new CD “Now.” Listen for cuts from these fantastic new releases beginning at 9 PM Eastern/6 PM Pacific, on another Premier Sunday…part of The Sunday Specials from XM 72, Beyond Jazz.
