You are correct.  Frank Johnson, Mediaguide's jazz specialist (and our 
friend going way back to his WRTI days) and I discussed this issue 
today. There will be the occasional crossover record that will cause a 
spike like this.  What Frank is going to do when this happens from here 
on out is to look at where the spins are coming from. In this case, it's 
because of "Cantaloupe Island" as Mark so adroitly points out. Frank 
will be able to filter out specific tracks that get a boost like that.

I don't expect that to happen too often, but we will have to account for 
it in the future. Where it becomes an issue is when a track gets 
considerable smooth airplay.  A track can sit for weeks in that position.

The next chart should reflect this adjustment.
