Newark, New Jersey, March 2, 2007 /--The NJEA/WBGO Jazzy Music Teacher
Contest comes to a climactic finale as the JAZZ WORLD descends on
Moorestown Upper Elementary School
<http://www.greatschools.net/modperl/browse_school/nj/3455> to surprise
and honor the winning music teacher and the student who wrote the
winning essay!

WBGO's Morning Jazz host Gary Walker, internationally accomplished
saxophonist Don Braden and officials of the New Jersey Education
Association (NJEA) and WBGO will be there to celebrate and honor the
winners and their school.

Students from all over the state of New Jersey were asked to write and
submit an essay as to why their teacher should be selected as The
NJEA/WBGO Jazzy Music Teacher of the Year. The winning teacher and
student will be surprised and honored with the award during a music
class at the school.

For winning The NJEA/WBGO Jazzy Music Teacher Contest, the school will
receive a free jazz concert to be scheduled at a future date. The
winning teacher will be featured on WBGO where he or she can talk about
music and play their favorite jazz tunes for the station's world-wide
audience. WBGO can be heard in the metro NY/NJ area on 88.3FM and
around the world at www.wbgo.org.

The Jazzy Music Teacher Contest is a partnership of NJEA and WBGO to
promote the importance of music and the arts in public education. As
school districts seek ways to trim their budgets, NJEA and WBGO believe
a well-rounded education must include music and arts programs.
