Severn Records United States release of ³A New Point of View²
Robinson teams up with Alex Schultz, Kevin Anker, Steve Gomes, Robb Stupka,
and legendary arranger Willie Henderson in his latest soul/blues project.

Blues Revue - April/May 2007
Singer and harmonica player Tad Robinson¹s brand of soul-blues harks back to
the Stax and Motown sounds of the late Œ60s and early Œ70s. On A New Point
of View, his second release for Severn Records, Robinson delivers eleven
strong performances that make you wonder why he¹s not more widely known.
The string and horn arrangements that pump up the lead track ³Long Way Home²
recall the early Œ70s work of Curtis Mayfield and Marvin Gaye. Robinson¹s
voice, a supple instrument with just the right touch of grit, sounds as
timeless as the material. The mid-tempo R&B tune ³Up and Down World² kicks
off with fine harmonica licks and boasts a memorable riff that would sound
right at home on a juke-joint jukebox. The band (guitarist Alex Schultz,
keyboardist Kevin Anker, bassist Steve Gomes, and drummer Robb Stupka)
creates a solid platform for Robinson¹s vocals. Schultz¹s lead guitar fills
and solos complement the singer without distracting from the ensemble
approach. The soulful horns play off Robinson¹s vocals in call-and-response
style on the groove-heavy ³Two of a Kind Blues,² which features great
electric piano and an adventurous harp solo. Fans of soul and R&B will have
a hard time resisting Robinson¹s charms. He and his band deliver the goods
on this set dominated by original tunes.
