CHICAGO'S NEW SIR MILES DAVIS ACADEMY ROLLS-OUT OFFICIAL RIBBON-CUTTING
CEREMONY PRESIDED BY ERIN DAVIS (SON OF MILES DAVIS), VINCE WILBURN, JR.
(NEPHEW OF MILES DAVIS) AND CPT USA RET, VINCENT WILBURN, SR.,
REPRESENTING MILES DAVIS PROPERTIES, LLC;  LOCAL DIGNITARIES,
CELEBRITIES, AND LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCES
 
WHO: Producer/musician Erin Davis, son of Miles Davis, Nef Drum
Productions CEO/Chicago native, Vince Wilburn, Jr., nephew of Miles
Davis, who along with Cheryl Davis (daughter of Miles Davis), run Miles
Davis Properties, LLC.  CPT USA RET, Vincent Wilburn, Sr., and Miles
Davis Properties, LLC General Manager/Chicago native, Darryl Porter.
Dr. Maxine Toliver, Principal of the Sir Miles Davis Academy and school
officials, local dignitaries and celebrities.  Miles Davis alumni Darryl
Jones (Rolling Stones), Robert Irving III and Felton Crews also to
attend, with live performance by Miles Davis alumni Pete Cosey.
 
WHAT: Official ribbon cutting of the new SIR MILES DAVIS ACADEMY.  This
day-long event kicks off at 11 a.m. with an official ribbon-cutting
ceremony; speeches about the cultural significance of this new school
and the great importance of education within the Chicago public school
system; a presentation to the Miles Davis Family, and an inaugural tour
of the new school building.  Live music performances and refreshments
will be served for parents and the community.

acclaimed music icon, and hero to many.  His highly significant and
innovative contribution to music and our culture, remains unparalleled.

the release Kind of Blue:  50th Anniversary Collector's Edition on
