The deadline for application submission is January 30!

Win a chance to headline at Jazz at the
Bistro with jazz legends Greg Osby and Willie
Akins! "St. Louis Shoes" is a competition to find the
next rising star of jazz. It's open to all saxophonists in
high school or college in the St. Louis area
(Missouri/Illinois). To find
out more, click here

The competition is a way to celebrate the rich heritage
and cultural importance of jazz in the St. Louis
community. Countless influential jazz musicians have
come from St. Louis and the surrounding areas
including Clark Terry, Miles Davis, Grant Green, Wilbur
Ware, and many others. Still, many of the area's
greatest musicians remain closely held treasures that
many have yet to hear. With strong jazz programs in
the region's major universities and a thriving high
school jazz culture, this competition seeks to find and
showcase the "young lions" that are paving the way for
the future of this truly American art form.
