Guitarist Bill Frisell has carved out a unique niche for himself in contemporary music. Although he's well-versed in the jazz repertoire, his catholic musical tastes have led him to collaborate with artists as diverse as Paul Simon and opera diva Renee Flemming. He's just completed a weeklong residency at the Village Vanguard with saxophonist Joe Lovano and drummer Paul Motian.

?

Frisell's new recording, "Disfarmer,"?on Nonesuch Records, presents 26 musical reflections on the work of iconoclastic 20th century photographer Mike Disfarmer.

?

The Bill Frisell Trio, featuring violist Eyvind Kang and drummer Rudy Royston, will perform at Infinity Hall, Rt. 44, Norfolk, CT on Thursday, September 10 at 8 pm. Details at www.infinityhall.com.

?
