Zinno's, a family Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village (W. 13th St) used
to have jazz regularly, sometimes with recognizable names. I'm not sure if
it qualifies for "inexpensive," but the cover charge won't drive you broke.

Hi Group,

A friend is chaperoning a small group of high school students on a trip to
New York next week. He wants to take 'em to an "inexpensive" jazz club in
the Village ... I realize that's a relative term, but can anyone suggest a
good spot to give young folks a taste of NYC jazz? Smalls is the place that
came to my mind immediately.
