The 55 Bar on Christopher Street is pretty reasonable. So is the Fat Cat. I'm

partial to Harlem--St. Nicks Pub on St. Nicholas Ave and 149th Street is

a really hip spot. Check out this site: http://www.gothamjazz.com/

> Hi Group,
> A friend is chaperoning a small group of high school students on a trip to New York next week. He wants to take 'em to an "inexpensive" jazz club in the Village ... I realize that's a relative term, but can anyone suggest a good spot to give young folks a taste of NYC jazz? Smalls is the place that came to my mind immediately.
