Greetings and salutations my fellow JPLers

It¹s another truly gorgeous day in the Mother City, Cape Town, she is
resplendent in her sky blue cover, nary a wisp of a cloud to blight the
beauty of this Tuesday. It¹s also another ³one of those days² when there is
so much to do and not enough time in the day, again, no peace for the
wicked, eh! Ok, sometimes I don¹t really understand that saying at all.
Onward, forward get it done, this is a a note to self.

I¹d like to ask that you, please go and like my new FB Page, Jazz Rendezvous
Radio Show Stokvel, Pinotage, & Coffee Club, please type the name into the
search box or use the hyperlink to go directly to the page

Also if you¹d like to became a part of the Jazz Rendezvous Radio Show
Stokvel Pinotage & Coffee Club and become a contributing editor on the page,
please inbox me of your interest, stories about jazz, blues, food wine,
beer, coffee from your part of the world and such like are most welcome. By
the way the word Stokvel (pronounced stork, without the Œr¹ sound and vel
fell as in fall).

>From Wikipedia; Stokvels are clubs or syndicates serving as rotating credit
unions in South Africa where members contribute fixed sums of money to a
central fund on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. Each month a
different member receives the money in the fund, which was collected during
that period, with no one ever defaulting on contributions. The members can
then use the collected fund for their own use, either for payment or
investment purposes. These stokvels have been a target for various
investment houses in South Africa, hoping to bring these informal saving
schemes into the main stream financial world. This being the case, the
stokvels are still very much a part of black South African communities and
will probably remain so for a number of years to come.

The reason that these clubs are so successful also centres around the social
aspects surrounding these clubs - for example women organisers hold parties
on Sunday afternoons. In the past they have set the social scene a-buzz with
group names like the 'Transvaalians','Black Lions', 'Victory Ladies' and the
'Double up 6Bs'. They often wore uniforms, sang initiation and popular songs
as well as hymns.

There are many Jazz Stokvels where member each purchase a specified number
of albums, which are played at their meetings, monthly and the person whose
month it is gets all the CD¹s

It¹s gonna be a good day today, oh yeah it sure is.

Warmest regards,
Have a fabulous day.
Peace, safety and happiness,
See it Š with your own ears
Yours in Music

Eric Alan
