Clarinetist/saxophonist Anat Cohen will be interviewed by Chuck Obuchowski Tuesday, January 17 at 10 a.m. EST on WWUH 91.3 FM, based in West Hartord, CT (http://wwuh.org). She will be leading her quartet at the 15th annual Jazz for Juvenile Diabetes fundraising concert this Saturday, January 21 at the West Hartford Town Hall, 50 South Main St. in downtown West Hartford.
Anat, a native of Israel, has performed previously in Hartford with the Diva Jazz Orchestra, an all-female big band - and with the guitar-led Choro Ensemble as part of a CT Guitar Society event. On Saturday, her quartet will include pianist Bruce Barth, bassist Orlando le Fleming and drummer Obed Calvaire.

Anat Cohen's new recording, "Family," issued several months ago on Anzic Records, is a collaboration with her brothers Yuval (soprano saxophone) and Avishai (trumpet) under the band name 3 Cohens. Her last solo outing "Clarinetwork: Live at the Village Vanguard" was a salute to Benny Goodman recorded during the centennial year of his birth.
Chuck will feature selections from a variety of releases featuring Anat Cohen on Tuesday, between 9 am - noon, during "Out Here & Beyond." WWUH radio has been broadcasting as a community service of The University of Hartford since 1968. Jazz programming airs on WWUH Monday - Friday mornings from 9 - noon, and Tuesday - Friday evenings from 9 until midnight.
