While jazz is America’s original art form – a lot of it is currently being created in other countries where it is much more accepted. It is quite ironic that jazz has been allowed to grow, blossom and remain relevant just about everywhere except the place where it was born. We’ve mostly turned jazz into a museum relic identified as a specific style made popular in the 40’s & 50’s, rather than an ever growing ever changing process of making music in the present. However, many other countries have taken the process and applied it to their own indigenous forms of music, thus allowing them to take on new forms and styles. That what jazz does, and continues to do – it unifies the planet, breaks down walls, and finds a common language that bridges all cultures.

To prove this, I present a 20 song selection of new music from the likes of Quasimode, Jazzanova, Cecilia Stalin, Heavy Quarterz, Ebo Taylor, Kenny Garrett, Reynold D. Philipsek, Ahmad Jamal, Dusko Goykovic, Kazhargan World, Alfredo Rodriguez, Jose Manuel, Kerong Chok, Karen Johns, Gregoire Maret (feat. Raul Midon), Jessica Lauren Four, Khari Cabral,
Randy Hoexter (feat. Sam Skelton), and Halie Loren.
